On the 16th of September 1920 Lawrence McLaren and a group of local men, most of whom would have seen service in WW1 gathered together to form Cupar & District Pipe Band.
The band went on from there to have many ups and downs, competing successfully and playing for events and falling into abeyance once or twice, lastly around 2010.
In 2013 another group of people came together to get the band up and running again, finding a place to meet, recovering such kit and equipment which was still around and gathering players and learners.
The band has gone on from there, teaching, playing and above all enjoying piping, drumming and a warm fellowship. We have also developed a mutual link with City of St Andrews Pipe Band and help each other out. Young and old, learners and experienced players we are a family united around our music which we love to share with the community of Cupar and District.
